What problems a wrong bra size can cause?
You will certainly experience red marks (when a bra is too big) and pain. Wearing the wrong size may cause even back problems or hurt the soft boob tissue. A moving around bra and wires digging into you may cause a lot of unwanted abrasions.
How do I know a bra fits right?
When you try the bra on, it is necessary to pay attention to the following things:
1. Please check if the band is not too loose - i.e. if you can pull it away from your back by more than 2-3 cm and you know that it can ride on the body (lift on the back), then we absolutely need to go down a band size. The band has to be supportive and snug yet still comfortable.
2. Does the bra stick to the breastbone in the middle front? If the bra does not sit flush on the breastbone, but rests on the breasts or hangs in the air, it means that we need to change the cup size to a larger one.
3. Does the underwire end behind the breast - does it dig into the breast? If it digs into the breast, it means that the cup is too small.
4. Well fitting bra cups will cover your breasts with no ridge or bulging over the tops or sides. If you are budling, you need a different cup size. Important - please do not forget to bend your breasts after putting on the bra - before you start looking and checking everything - from under the armpit to the middle of the chest - to position your breasts comfortably and nicely in the cup :)
And please note that the straps in practically all MOVELLE models, are divided in half at the back - the adjustment of their length is in each lower, as well as in some and the upper part. In the middle of the length, the straps can be clipped together with sewn-in rings and hooks - racerback. You should not be scared or feel shy - it is as normal as a shoe fitting. It is absolutely fine, no matter what age you are. We are always happy to help you.
How do I measure myself correctly?
Here are some helpful tips on how to measure yourself correctly. First, measure the band just below the bust. It is important that the tape measure is placed at the same height in the front and in the back - otherwise you will get an incorrect result. It is necessary to squeeze a little under the bust - do not do it on a full exhalation, but also not on a full inhalation. It is very important to squeeze enough not to suffocate, but to feel a slight compression. The bust measurement is done loosely. Place the tape measure at the widest point of the bust so that it is right at the apex of the breasts. And just as with the underbust measurement - remember that it should be at the same level in front and back. If your breasts are very saggy due to breastfeeding, weight loss or just gravity, it is best to take this measurement in a bra: not padded, but soft, not flattening, but lifting our breasts naturally.
Do I need an underwire? What if I don’t like them?
No, but we highly recommend underwired bras especially in particular sizing range. Wired bras will shape your breast so much better than wireless bras. Plus, the gore, or the middle part of your bra hardly ever lays flat in wireless bras, for some that can be uncomfortable. We find that most women who don’t like underwires aren’t wearing the right bra size. When you wear the wrong bra size the wire will sit on top of the breast tissue, which causes discomfort. When you wear the right size the underwire will be under or to the side of your breast tissue, which is much more comfortable and your breasts are supported and secure. If you have never had a comfortable fit and lift in a bra and you hate bras - think how life changing it will be not to worry and stress about such trivial things as a bra. And you won't spend most of your day dreaming about taking it off.
What do you do when your breasts are different sizes?
We'll typically fit the the larger breast if you have two different sizes of breasts. So many of us have it. We offer sheer mesh non stretch cups so it is visible to use a molded insert to fill in the gap on the smaller breast.
How do I keep my straps from falling down?
Most of the time it's because you're not wearing the right band size. It could also be you need to tighten the bra straps a bit. You want to be able to put your two fingers underneath the straps and not have it move easily. If one shoulder strap is falling off, pull down your band to make sure your bra is sitting down low. If that doesn't take care of your problem tighten up the straps a bit on that one side. You may also use the racerback option that is sewn into every MOVELLE bra. This works wonders by making sure the straps don't fall off your shoulders and also it hides the bra straps under sleeveless tops and dresses.
How do I wash my bra?
Please avoid washing your bra in the washing machine because it can make the underwires pop out of the bra. So it's best to hand wash in cold water (up to 30 degrees Celsius) and leave it flat to dry.
A bra band rides up
A bra band should sit parallel to the floor and provide most of the support for your breasts. If you find your band riding up your back, it's a sign that it has lost its elasticity and can no longer provide the support you need. A well-fitting band should stay in place and give you that firm, secure feeling.
